Mass Intentions

Masses may be offered for the intention of any specific person or group of persons, living or deceased. There is no “cost” for a Mass intention; however, it is customary to make an offering at the time of scheduling. (The Archdiocese of Omaha recommends $10.00 as an ordinary stipend.) Stipends are paid directly to the priest upon satisfying the Mass intention. Anyone may request an intention by calling or visiting the Parish Offices. Checks may be made payable to: Holy Trinity Mass Fund.

Sacramental Records
In the Catholic Church an individual’s sacramental records are recorded at the parish where one was baptized. You may request a copy of your sacramental records from Holy Trinity by calling or e-mailing the Parish Offices.

Baptism
Any parishioner wishing to have a child baptized should call the office to set a date and to provide the information necessary for the baptismal register. Parents may be asked to meet with the pastor for a baptismal preparation session. Ordinarily, baptism is celebrated after one of the Sunday Masses by a priest or deacon of the parish. Catholics living outside of the parish must have a good reason for baptizing their child at Holy Trinity and must present a letter from their own pastor giving them permission to do so. At least one Catholic sponsor (godparent) is required. If two sponsors are selected one must be male and the other female. Any Catholic to be a sponsor must present a letter from his/her pastor demonstrating that he/she: is at least 16 years of age; has been baptized, confirmed, and received First Eucharist in the Catholic Church; faithfully practices the Catholic faith; and is not prohibited by Church law from being a sponsor. Sponsors: The following forms are for the sponsors. Please choose the appropriate form, fill it out and present to your parish for pastor signature.

* If you are a member of Holy Trinity or St. Michael's Parish and the baptism will take place elsewhere, use this form: Sponsor form for baptism in another parish.

* If you are not a member of Holy Trinity or St. Michael's Parish, but the baptism will take place at one of those, then use this form: Sponsor form for baptism at Holy Trinity or St. Michael's.

For adult baptisms, see “Becoming Catholic (RCIA)” below.

Anyone wishing to schedule an individual Confession with the pastor outside of these times should call the Parish Offices to do so.

Anointing of the Sick
Those who wish to receive the Anointing of the Sick should call the Parish Offices to schedule an appointment with the pastor. The Anointing of the Sick is available to anyone whose life is in danger due to sickness or old age. Those who are preparing for surgery due to serious illness may receive the Sacrament also. For any other type of illness or surgery, the Church prescribes special blessings which may be requested from a priest or a deacon.

Marriage
Couples who wish to celebrate the Sacrament of Marriage at Holy Trinity should call the Parish Offices at least nine months prior to their desired wedding date. An appointment with the pastor will be necessary to discuss the marriage preparation process and to set a date in the parish calendar. Click here to download the Marriage Guidelines for Holy Trinity.

Becoming Catholic (RCIA)
Non-Catholic adults who are interested in learning about the Catholic faith and possibly being baptized or received into the full communion of the Catholic Church should contact the pastor to begin the preparation process. Ordinarily, this will require participation in the Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults (RCIA) which begins in the fall and continues until the Easter Season.

Stewardship, Donations, & Tuition
Stewardship must be a way of life for all Catholics. At Holy Trinity, all parishioners are encouraged to be generous with their time, talent, and treasure. The Church recommends to us the venerable tradition of tithing—giving away one-tenth of one’s gross income as “firstfruits” offered to God in thanksgiving. The Bishops of the United States recommend dividing one’s tithe thusly: 1% to one’s diocese, 4% to one’s parish, and 5% to personal charities.

Parishioners at Holy Trinity receive a packet of stewardship envelopes in the mail on a quarterly basis to be used at the Offertory at Mass. Parishioners may elect instead to make their regular stewardship contribution via automatic payments directly from their bank. Click here to download the automatic payment authorization form for parish stewardship.

In addition to one’s regular stewardship, one may wish to donate to a particular parish or school project. Likewise, it is not uncommon to donate some gift in memory of deceased loved one. All monetary donations are handled at the Parish Offices. All non-monetary gifts should be presented to the pastor for his consideration and approval before being donated to the parish.

All tuition payments for the parish preschool and elementary school are to be handled at the Parish Offices rather than at the school office. Click here to download the automatic payment authorization form for school tuition.

Endowments
Holy Trinity maintains three separate endowments for the financial support of the parish. All monies donated to the parish endowments are invested as directed by the norms established by the Endowment Committee. The parish uses the interest earned from its “Parish” and “School” endowments as income in its annual budget. The interest earned from the “Scholarship” account is awarded as scholarships to families sending their children to our Catholic schools. Please keep our endowments in mind for your estate planning.
